Our Mission
Most shelters are chronically too full, and they face difficult decisions of euthanasia for no reason other than “we are out of space and money.” The first animals to get put on that list are senior pets, and those with medical issues.
Penny’s Hospice exists to relieve the shelters of this very sad burden to decide, and to give these precious seniors the dignified and loving retirement they deserve. No animal deserves to be abandoned in their old age, and then euthanized on a cold floor, frightened and alone.
At Penny’s, we also rehabilitate orphaned wildlife such as squirrels. We ensure these animals make it to young adulthood, and then release them safely into the wild. They are released on-site and stay nearby, where they build their nests and families.
